
Current aircraft safety nets will form the basis of RPAS safety systems. According to its definition, a safety net is not supposed to be a primary way of achieving a safety task. However, this will be the case for RPAS: they will rely on automation existing in safety nets but use them as the main safety system. Thus, reflexion about RPAS safety systems asks for a good knowledge of existing safety nets, they benefits and drawbacks.
To keep up to date with the latest techniques, a researcher from the Chair was present at this safety forum. Interaction with the present ATM experts also allowed spreading awareness about what the futur of ATM may be with RPAS in the sky.
